Board OF Education Candidate Scorecards

Yesterday the group Authors Against Book Bans (AABB) issued candidate scorecards on all four Carroll County Board of Education candidates. Scorecards have a rating of green, yellow, or red. 

Muri Lynn Dueppen and Amanda Jozkowski each received a GREEN card because they support the freedom to read and oppose book bans. 

Greg Malveaux and Kristen Zihmer each received a RED card. AABB expressed concerns about these two candidates’ positions as well as their close ties to Moms for Liberty, a radical group that is spearheading book bans around the country (including here in Carroll County).

AABB is a coalition of authors, illustrators, and other book contributors who united to take a stand against increasing censorship.  Among its members is acclaimed author Judy Blume.
