July CCPS BOE meeting

Register to speak or support those that are speaking at the CCPS Board of Education Meeting on July 10th. Our goal is the urge the Board to vote to reject two award-winning children’s books from the state health curriculum: The Family Bookby Todd Parr and The Big Book of Families by Mary Hoffman.  

Why?  Because the books each have a sentence that’s says “Some families have two moms or two dads.” One Board member is arguing that they must be excluded for containing “controversial ideas.”

The Board of Education of Carroll County will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Board of Education offices, located at 125 North Court Street in Westminster. The Board will hold one session of Public Participation at approximately 5:15 p.m. During this session, there will be an opportunity for up to 15 citizens to address the Board. Each speaker will be allowed three minutes.

Digital sign-up will be available on the Carroll County Public Schools website at www.carrollk12.org beginning at 4:00 p.m. the Monday before the Board meeting and ending that Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. Click here to register to speak at the meeting or go to www.carrollk12.org and click on the Board of Education tab, then Meeting Information and Public Participation.
